"Frugal food pregnancy wins instead of being lazy"
I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I've been random cravings and weird aversions. I had been very tempted to order food from restaurants especially with all of the fatigue I've been feeling. I pushed myself to going to the grocery store and cooking the food myself. I'm not really telling anyone about the pregnancy yet. I wanted to share these small wins for myself l. Last night I was able to create an ihop dinner at home with my husband and I felt really proud of myself. I've saved a lot of money by doi

"Eating on $40/week: Chicken and rice lunch prep"
Continuing my series on eating well on a $40/week grocery budget... I work a Monday - Friday schedule and prep both my dinners and lunches on Sunday. For dinners, I cook a full meal (and have posted the past few weeks of my meals on this subreddit). It would be a little much to cook full meals for lunch as well, so instead I cut a few corners here and there and make what I like to call "assemblage meals", which aren’t as transformational as cooking per se, but instead assemble individual ingred

"I made a zero-cost tofu press."
Tofu is cheap, healthy and delicious, so it's ironic that tofu presses cost a small fortune. The DIY versions are great, but they require purchase of the supplies. You actually don't need ANY of that! Just keep the original plastic box from your previous cook. Open up new tofu box and squish it on top, weigh it down with a container of water, and let gravity handle the rest. The built-in grooves provide perfect drainage—no hole-punching required. It’s a zero-cost, zero-clutter way to get be

"I started buying rotisserie chickens instead of lunch meat."
I know a lot of people don't like Walmart but hear me out. Walmart has rotisserie chickens for $3.97, they are a bit smaller than Costco's but if you are on SNAP you can buy the chilled ones on SNAP at Walmart. I have been buying two of them, casually stripping most of the meat, and then using the bones and whatever meat and skin is left with a bag of frozen mire poix mix to make over 4 quarts of high quality chicken stock that is better than anything you can buy in the store for 8$/quart. My ro
