Lookback: Currently unemployed, unsure of future

Considered pursuing a Master's in Computer Science

I'm an embedded software engineer with an EE background, but I'm tired of working in a lab. I'm currently unemployed and considering a career change. I thought getting a Computer Science master's would help me transition out of the embedded field, but I'm hesitant due to the current hiring situation. Many new CS graduates are struggling to find jobs, which makes me wonder if investing in a master's degree is worth it.

What I wish I knew
"I wish I had known more about the current job market for CS graduates before considering a master's degree."
If I could tell you one thing
"Don't pursue a CS master's without researching the current job market and understanding the potential return on investment. Make sure you have a clear plan for how you'll use the degree to advance your career."
